Dealing with Life’s Difficult Situations

I learned a valuable lesson -but it was only learned when I found myself in jail.

One morning when I was drinking, the bails bonds picked me up on a warrant and immediately killed my buzz on my way to jail.

I was thrown into a holding cell and had nothing to do but think.

Then I thought to myself, “damn. how did I get here?”.

As I looked back at all the choices I had made up until that point, I saw exactly how I got there.

This made quitting alcohol almost effortless and here’s why.

The fact was, I had put myself in that situation.

…and since I had put myself there, then that meant I could take myself out.

That’s the minute I decided to take responsibility over my life.

When you take responsibility for your life, its easy to change it because you now know you hold all the power.

Its a very liberating feeling.

Think about it.

If you find yourself in a difficult situation, understand that you put yourself there. You can see all the choices you made at some point in the past that led you there.

And if you put yourself there, that means you can take yourself out.

All you have to do is make better choices.
