This Helped Me Sober Up and Improve My Life

After about a year of being an alcoholic I found myself in jail.

I was there with no phone, nobody else around me, and nothing to do but think.

This lead me to think about what I was doing with my life.

Then I thought about a list of goals that I had made about a year or two before.

I had written down what I thought I really wanted, but instead I was spending all my time drinking, every single day for about a year.

They say everything happens for a reason.

I believe the reason I was in jail was to give myself time to think about my life and sober up.

It took me about six hours sitting by myself in jail to decide to quit alcohol and change my entire life.

If the bails bonds hadn’t picked me up that day, I would probably still be drinking.

And now I thank God I was sent to jail.
